Diabetic Friendly Snacks - Baked Apple Chips

As addictive as potato chips are, you'll find these apple chips even more addictive. This makes a great treat for any time of the year!

3 large apples
2 tbsp. cinnamon
3 packets of sugar substitute
1/4 tsp freshly ground nutmeg
Pinch of freshly ground cloves
Yogurt (for dipping, optional)

Core the apples, but leave the peels on.

Slice the apples very thin using a mandolin.

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Line baking sheets with parchment paper. Spread out the apples on the paper.

Mix the cinnamon, sugar substitute, nutmeg and cloves. Sprinkle half the mixture over the apples.
Flip the apple slices and sprinkle the other half the mixture over them.

Put them in the oven and bake for 2 1/2 hours, flipping them half-way through the cooking.

Shut the oven and leave the apple slices in there for another hour to cool down and crisp up.

Take them out and enjoy-- dip in yogurt if desired.
